Accompanying the tea
Almond Croissants
Ingredients for 12 pieces:
- 200 grams of salted butter at room temperature
- ½ cup of sugar
- 1 ¼ cups of ground almonds
- 2 cups of flour
Preparation:
- Mix the butter and sugar in a food blender until the butter has melted and a smooth and airy mixture is obtained.
- Add the almonds and the flour mix until it is a homogenous dough.
- Tear off small pieces of dough and roll them in the hands to the size of a finger and shape them like croissants.
- Place in a greased baking pan and bake for 12 minutes in the middle of a oven that was preheated to 170 degrees centigrade. It is recommended to check, from time to time, the color of the bottoms of croissants as the croissants do not go brown on the tops. When the bottoms reach a golden color this is a sign that the croissants are ready.
- Remove from the oven, allow them to cool, sprinkle castor sugar from the top and store the croissants in a container that closes well.
